We are now inviting entries for The Grand Tour – a special, interiors-led auction inspired by the elegance and intrigue of 18th and 19th century travel. Channeling the spirit of the Grand Tourist abroad, this sale will celebrate the refined eye of the cultured collector, with a rich mix of classical motifs, continental charm, and timeworn splendour.
We’re seeking objects that might once have been packed into a crate bound from Rome or Florence: bronzes, obelisks, busts, micro-mosaics, and other quintessential Grand Tour pieces. We’re looking for Italianate and classical paintings, drawings and engravings; neoclassical and continental furniture with a sense of history; architectural fragments, antique books, maps, and travel ephemera – anything evocative of the learned traveller and their love affair with antiquity.
